Massage Therapy

Greetings
My name is Zuhayer Mamun, but you can call me Zu. Growing up in Iowa, I never dreamed of becoming a massage therapist. And if you had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I likely would have said, "a jedi". While that didn't exactly happen, I still ultimately found my way to a deeply meaningful and impactful line of work.
My personal experience with massage therapy began during my own quest to recover from a shoulder injury sustained long ago. After experiencing profound benefits from massage sessions, I became aware of the incredible potential within this field of healthcare to positively affect people's lives- because I had experienced firsthand the healing power of massage through intentional human touch. Furthermore, following the death of my paternal grandfather, I was deeply moved and motivated to figure out how I could help others find healing and regain balance in their bodies. His passing shaped my perspective on the beauty and fragility of life, and the importance of taking care of ourselves in all aspects- physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual- in order to be of greatest service and support to those in our lives.
These factors sparked my decision to seek an education in healthcare. And in reflecting on my experiences, I knew I wanted to work in a field where I could affect true change through real action and intention by working with my hands. So, I returned to school and graduated from Carlson College of Massage Therapy in August of 2025. Now, I am driven to continually develop my craft and become the best massage therapist I can possibly be. And going forward, I am ready to work with clients and assist them in their journeys toward healing and wellness.
In my free time, I enjoy studying human anatomy and physiology, exercising, practicing Kung Fu, meditating, listening to interesting podcasts, cooking food, hiking and enjoying time outside in nature- soaking up the sunshine and feeling the earth beneath my feet!- and spending quality time with my family, friends, and, of course, my beloved cat, Jadu.
